About the Role

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to oversee projects located primarily in southern New York state counties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with underground utilities such as water and gas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to multiple job sites to conduct safety observations and ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements.
  • Assist in creating and conducting Job Hazard Analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Develop and implement project-specific health and safety programs (HASP) to promote a culture of safety.
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings to communicate hazards and ensure employee understanding.
  • Make recommendations and corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate near miss, first aid, injury, and property damage incidents to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in COVID-related activities and ensure compliance with company protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • 5-8 years of safety-related experience, preferably in underground utility construction.
  • Operator Qualification Evaluator or willingness to obtain.
  • Five years or more experience in natural gas transmission, distribution, and/or services.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment/crane operations is a plus.
