About the Role:

The Substation Engineer will play a critical role in designing and applying utility-grade substation systems. This includes handling layout design, drawing reviews, and equipment specifications. The engineer will also prepare design sketches, cost estimates, and reports, perform various calculations, and support construction projects.

Substation Functions:

  • Voltage Transformation: Changes electricity from high voltage to low voltage or vice versa, making it suitable for long-distance travel or local use.
  • Power Distribution: Routes electricity from power plants to homes and businesses.
  • Safety and Control: Includes equipment to protect and manage the electrical system, ensuring reliable and safe power delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in substation engineering or related operations.
  • Knowledge of substation layout and major equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with IEEE/ANSI Standards and National Electrical Safety Code.
