Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs and industries, as well as the firm's practice areas and services.
  • Assess eligibility for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status for corporate foreign national employees.
  • Collaborate with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, often based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.
  • Communicate proactively with clients, within SLAs/team protocols, and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Utilize firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.
  • Contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
  • Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association.
  • 0-2 years of experience at Associate level.
  • An academic understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
