Position: Space Systems Technical Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional with a robust technical research background to provide expert guidance and project oversight on innovative space systems initiatives at INCA Engineering. As a Space Systems Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring project control, facilitating communication with stakeholders, and leveraging your technical expertise to offer strategic direction. Your role will involve conducting risk assessments, coordinating testing activities, and managing evaluations and independent verification and validation (IV&V) processes.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in various technologies, including space systems engineering, electronic warfare, and both hardware and software design, including flight software.

This position requires full-time onsite presence, with a flexible work schedule that may include occasional remote work options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular assessments of program performance to identify technical and scheduling risks; develop strategies for risk mitigation and communicate insights to the program manager.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical documentation, briefings, and other communications from project performers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and services.
  • Oversee preliminary operational analyses and ensure effective execution.
  • Manage programmatic aspects, including technical analysis development, identification of technology gaps, risk management, project cost estimation, and technology transfer initiatives.
  • Prepare work products for INCA Engineering, including presentations and reports.
  • Facilitate and participate in program reviews, site visits, and field tests.
  • Support the development of further research solicitations and source selection activities related to electromagnetic spectrum dominance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in space systems engineering or mission operations.
  • A degree in physics, electrical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Possession of an active or in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI Access is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with technologies such as electronic warfare, hardware and software design, and flight software development.
  • Previous experience supporting programs at DARPA in a technical and program management capacity.
  • Familiarity with DARPA's processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong interest and expertise in the relevant technical areas.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information to support program objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in developing and testing space technologies.
  • Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach, capable of leading and supporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to urgent requests.
  • Adaptability to change and flexibility in approach.
  • Understanding of the technical, programmatic, and contractual environment at DARPA.
