Job Title: Program Support

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to provide maintenance and repair services for our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including painting, patching, carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and minor repairs of buildings and grounds.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with utility maintenance, including heating, electrical, plumbing, and power systems.
  • Conduct interior painting and exterior grounds maintenance, including mowing, sweeping, shoveling, and snow removal.
  • Address spills and stains promptly, prioritizing safety.
  • Shampoo carpets as needed and stock supplies and materials.
  • Perform general cleaning of properties as directed by supervisor.
  • Routine vehicle maintenance, including checks for accident kits, vehicle registration, and necessary insurance documentation.
  • Assist with Food Bank duties, including operating a large vehicle to pick up food and supplies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in maintenance.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, patching, and painting skills.
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License.
  • Able to pass Criminal Background and Motor Vehicle Record checks.
Working Environment

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Noise level is generally low to medium, but may include motor and equipment operating noise. Personal protective equipment will be worn as required.

Language Skills

Must be able to understand, follow, and give written and oral instructions, and be comfortable working with diverse individuals in face-to-face contact and over the telephone.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to perform simple calculations and apply concepts such as ratios and percentages in practical situations.

Performance Skills

Must be punctual, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and possess a desire to learn and assist those interacted with.
