In this position, successful candidates will collaborate with the healthcare team to assist physicians and providers in delivering outstanding patient care.

Experience with electronic health records is advantageous.

Benefits:

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Compensation at $19 per hour, depending on experience.

Applicants should have a Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or a community college program in medical assisting.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Caregiver, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Current health records with the necessary immunizations to work in the healthcare sector (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis) are required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately captures and documents vital signs (Blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, O2 saturation, pulse)
- Updates the medication list with any necessary reconciliations
- Records the patient's chief complaint and enters it into the electronic health records (EHR) system
- Completes the room turnover process, including cleaning and restocking
- Stocks examination rooms and notifies supply personnel when items are low
- Completes daily tasks and phone calls with guidance from a supervisor or ACA
- Performs EKGs, injections, and vaccinations under supervision.

Advanced Responsibilities:
- Assists providers with minor medical procedures
- Prepares charts based on provider schedules, including pulling Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) data and preparing consents
- Makes complex phone calls requiring skilled communication and decision-making abilities
- Under supervision, the Medical Assistant III may order and perform CLIA waived tests.

Independent Responsibilities:
- Performs EKGs, injections, vaccinations, ear irrigations, CLIA waived tests (UA, Strep, Flu, COVID, HCG), PKU, Hemocue, lab draws, and teaches others these skills
- Completes special projects that support the overall improvement of Praxis Health.
