Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team at the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing top-tier care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Monitor and assess the condition of animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being during treatment and recovery.
  • Assisting with Procedures: Prepare animals and equipment for surgical and diagnostic procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
  • Chemotherapy Administration: Work closely with chemotherapy drugs, ensuring precise administration and monitoring of patient reactions.
  • Diagnostic Tests: Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and radiology, to support veterinarians in diagnosing conditions.
  • Client Communication: Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and overall pet health, fostering a strong client relationship.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program (preferred); a Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Licensure: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) strongly preferred; candidates with a veterinary assistant background will also be considered with the appropriate work experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an emergency or specialty setting is highly desirable, particularly in administering treatments and handling critical cases.
