Job Summary

The University of California-Davis is seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team at the CAARE Diagnostic and Treatment Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents, including screening, crisis intervention, and short-term trauma treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health services to patients, including assessment, therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments to identify patients' needs and develop effective treatment strategies.
  • Provide training and supervision to trainees and staff on evidence-based treatments, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
  • Participate in program development and evaluation to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an accredited institution.
  • California Board of Psychology license eligibility.
  • Experience working with victims of crime and providing trauma-informed mental health care.
  • Experience providing mental health treatment to adolescents and young adults.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of CITI Basis course for Social and Behavioral Researchers and Staff within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience navigating the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems.
  • Experience completing child welfare evaluations, such as ability to benefit from reunification services, bonding assessments, and ability to parent safely and adequately.
  • Experience working with high-risk adolescents.
  • Training and experience in TF-CBT, PCIT, DBT, and/or CBT.
  • Advanced communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to approach clinical care with cultural humility.
  • Skills in conducting psychologist services in other languages (Spanish).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical training and supervision to trainees and staff.
  • A demonstrated commitment to, or lived experience with, underserved and/or minoritized populations with exposure to trauma.
