Job Overview

VIATechnik is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical VDC Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our VDC team, you will be responsible for managing electrical subcontractor projects across the VDC spectrum, coordinating and leading digital model creation efforts globally, and serving as the interface to clients and cultivating client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical subcontractor projects across the VDC spectrum, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate and lead digital model creation efforts globally for electrical subcontractor projects, leveraging industry-leading software and tools.
  • Serve as the interface to clients and cultivate client relationships, presenting work and conducting meetings as needed.
  • Plan and execute large and small BIM projects, including forecasting and budgeting time and expenses for the entire project team.
  • Review and explain electrical and one-line drawings, delegating creation of models to global team members.
  • Perform quality control checks of models, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and provide feedback to team members.
  • Contribute to our culture of professional development and knowledge sharing by participating in training efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field.
  • 3-5 years of experience providing execution and support of BIM and VDC at an electrical subcontractor.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on finding win-win solutions and performing well under pressure.
  • Well-honed organizational skills to keep projects running smoothly.
  • Ability to flex hours to meet team and client requirements.
  • Knowledge of primary building systems and interior finishes, as well as the sequence and assembly of each.
  • Experience creating and managing complex commercial and industrial design projects.
  • Intermediate-level experience with Revit, Navisworks, BIM360, and BlueBeam.
  • Effective work habits to succeed in an extremely fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in combining and coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection on revised components, and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit and BlueBeam.
  • Understanding of leading online meetings and training sessions across remote project teams using platforms such as Asana.
  • Additional knowledge or experience within the construction industry, especially deeper experience within low voltage systems, data centers, high rises, and audio/visual.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Revizto, Dynamo, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Strong ability to see the big picture and think strategically.
  • Track record of effectively working with and/or managing teams remotely, especially global teams.
  • Proactive and flexible attitude.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The pay for this position is $87,000+, and the role is eligible for bonuses.
  • Health insurance with the choice of four plan options, with VIATechnik covering 70-95% of premiums for employees and 70% of premiums for dependents.
  • Dental and vision insurance, with VIATechnik covering 75% of monthly insurance premiums for employees and 50% of premiums for dependents.
