Job Overview

Position Summary: The Logistics Dispatcher at Honor Foods is integral to the Logistics team, emphasizing the coordination of outsourced shipments and ensuring timely and precise deliveries. This position encompasses a range of duties, including carrier assignment, rate negotiation, and maintaining effective communication with Account Executives while addressing freight invoice discrepancies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assign carriers based on shipment details and oversee shipment scheduling.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, ensuring alignment with service standards and profitability goals.
  • Monitor carrier performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with Account Executives and leadership teams.
  • Ensure adequate coverage for anticipated shipments and manage customer and vendor documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in freight invoices and confirm transportation orders.
  • Coordinate transportation solutions, negotiating spot rates for efficient and profitable logistics.
  • Track and trace shipments with contracted carriers, collaborating with warehouse schedulers.
  • Develop and analyze dedicated routes and schedules, providing performance data reports.
  • Address logistical challenges and provide support during irregular work hours.
  • Manage OS&D issues at delivery sites and prepare/distribute weekly shipping reports.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a four-year college degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics and/or transportation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Office applications; demonstrated experience with routing/logistics software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including nights and weekends.

Public Interaction: Engage courteously and tactfully with managers, colleagues, customers, and vendors to positively influence productivity and morale.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, use hands, handle, reach, talk, and hear. Frequently required to stand and walk. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Hourly Pay Range: $20 to $25
