Job Summary

This position is to serve as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Investment Security, within the Office of International Affairs, U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Office of Investment Security fulfills Treasury's responsibilities as chair of Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to review certain transactions involving foreign investment in the United States to determine the effect of such transactions on the national security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and work with stakeholders on issues involving economics, finance, international affairs, law, national security, public policy, or science and technology.
  • Evaluate a range of international financial, investment, or national security policy issues.
  • Conduct specialized analyses of foreign direct investment to identify economic, national security, or other risks.
  • Communicate results of research and analysis and make policy recommendations to senior decision makers.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine suitability for Federal employment.
  • Have salary sent to a financial institution of choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify registration with the Selective Service System or be exempt.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process.
  • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
  • File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
  • Undergo an income tax verification.
Qualifications

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-14 LEVEL: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
