Tufts University seeks a highly skilled and collaborative Research Librarian for Music to join our team at the Tisch Library. This is a full-time, full-year position that offers a unique blend of academic support, collection development, and instructional services.
Key Responsibilities- Instruction and Research Support: Design and deliver instruction sessions, offer individual research consultations, and create meaningful relationships with assigned academic departments to support student learning and faculty research.
- Collection Development: Build and maintain excellent collections in support of Tufts' goals to be both student-centered and research-focused, including monograph selection, approval plan management, database trials and analysis, and collection review projects.
- Collaboration and Outreach: Work closely with colleagues across the Research & Learning division to co-teach, offer effective referrals, and support cross-department work, while sharing knowledge of faculty and student needs in designing responsive library services.
- Master's Degree in Library/Information Science: A Master's degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or international equivalent.
- Educational Experience or Background in Music: Educational experience or background in music, with a strong understanding of the scholarly needs of music faculty and students.
- Library Experience: Library experience in instruction, research, or collections, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services and support.
- Collaborative Environment: Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and communication.
- Subject Liaison Experience: Two years of experience providing subject liaison services (instruction, consultation, and/or collection development) in an academic library or other public service environment.
- Subject Expertise: Relevant subject expertise related to other disciplines within arts and humanities, including digital humanities.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading peers in project or committee work, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
This is a hybrid position that includes work that can be done remotely as well as work that must be done on-site. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity, with a minimum of $64,550.00, midpoint of $80,700.00, and maximum of $96,850.00.
