Police Officer Salary
$ $62.84 Hourly

$94, $130,707.20 Annually

Your Contribution:
  • Promote community engagement, strategic alliances, and forward-thinking solutions.
  • Complete a 20-week Field Training Officer (FTO) program to prepare for patrol responsibilities.
  • Investigate offenses against individuals or property, execute arrests, and uphold traffic laws.
  • Document incidents, provide testimony in court, and perform various law enforcement tasks.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of 60 college-level units or an Associate's degree, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid California driver’s license.
All candidates must successfully pass the Public Safety background verification process.

The department is a comprehensive public safety agency that offers various specialized programs, including Emergency Management, Crime Prevention, School Resource Officer, K-9 units, Traffic Enforcement, and more. The Selection Process
The selection process will involve an examination and a thorough background investigation prior to appointment. All candidates must successfully pass the Public Safety background verification process, which includes reviewing legal documents, police and driving records, credit profiles, prior employment records, and performance evaluations.

This recruitment may create an eligibility list for future openings in similar or lower classifications within the organization. This is an ongoing recruitment process.
Written Examination
Candidates will have the option to take the written exam online (proctored) or in-person. In-person testing is conducted monthly.

Retirement Benefits
