Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Parking Operations: Oversee the work of parking operations and enforcement staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct Subordinates: Direct subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Manage Parking Facilities: Ensure that all parking facilities are well-maintained and meet the needs of our campus community.
  • Enforce Parking Policies: Enforce parking policies and regulations, ensuring that all users comply with university rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Interpersonal Skills: Develop and maintain rapport and professional relationships with assigned staff, peers, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Explain program policies and processes, actively listen, and advise.
  • Working Knowledge of Parking Procedures: Guide employees on parking procedures and enforcement.
  • Resource Management: Manage multiple priorities and execute plans to meet deadlines.
  • Leadership Skills: Mentor and advise employees, actively cooperate, and support the work of others.
  • Knowledge of California Vehicle Code: Familiarity with California Vehicle Code and UC parking policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience in Transportation Industry: Previous experience in the transportation industry and knowledge of related Federal, State, and local codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Traffic Signs and Equipment: Knowledge of traffic signs, traffic barricading, and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of Traffic Laws and Regulations: Familiarity with traffic laws and regulations pertaining to traffic control.
Special Conditions
  • Background Check: Must pass a background check.
  • California Driver's License: Must have a California Driver's License and participate in the California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
  • Ability to Work Outdoors: Ability to work outdoors, year-round, and in all weather conditions.
  • Variable Work Schedule: Ability to work a variable 4/40 work schedule that includes nights and weekends.
