Key Responsibilities

The role of a CVOR Registered Nurse involves a range of critical duties, including:

  • Preoperative Assessment: Conducting thorough evaluations of patients prior to surgical procedures to identify health requirements and formulate care strategies.
  • Instrumentation Management: Preparing and maintaining the operating room, ensuring all equipment is sterile and functional.
  • Intraoperative Care: Delivering direct patient care during surgical operations, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing emergencies.
  • Postoperative Support: Providing care post-surgery, including vital sign monitoring, pain management, and complication observation.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Record Maintenance: Keeping precise and current medical records, documenting all patient care activities.
  • Continuous Education: Engaging in ongoing training to remain updated on best practices in cardiovascular surgery and perioperative care.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a valid RN license and have extensive experience in a cardiovascular operating room environment. Essential qualities include:

  • Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical procedures
