Key Responsibilities

The CVOR Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a cardiovascular surgical environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Preoperative Assessment: Conducting thorough evaluations of patients before surgery to identify health needs and formulate care plans.
  • Instrumentation Management: Preparing and maintaining the operating room, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
  • Intraoperative Care: Providing direct patient care during surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
  • Postoperative Care: Overseeing patient recovery post-surgery, managing pain, and watching for potential complications.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate medical records and documenting all patient care activities.
  • Continuous Education: Engaging in ongoing training to stay updated with advancements in cardiovascular surgery and perioperative practices.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a valid RN license and have substantial experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting. Essential qualities include:

  • Experience with cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
