Job Description:

Priority Group is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Specialist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation and enhance patients' quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Treatment:
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations: Assess patients' functional abilities and limitations to determine the most effective treatment plan.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans: Create personalized treatment plans to address specific occupational therapy goals and objectives.
  • Therapy Implementation:
    • Administer therapeutic exercises and activities: Utilize a variety of exercises and activities to improve motor skills, strength, and coordination.
    • Use adaptive equipment and assistive technology: Leverage adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support patients' independence and improve their quality of life.
  • Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
    • Monitor patients' progress: Regularly track patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
    • Document patient assessments and progress notes: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, and reports.
  • Patient Education and Support:
    • Educate patients and their families: Teach patients and their families therapeutic techniques and strategies for daily living activities.
    • Provide emotional support and encouragement: Offer emotional support and encouragement throughout the therapy process.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: Work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Communicate with healthcare professionals and caregivers: Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and caregivers regarding patient progress and needs.

Requirements:

  • Valid New Jersey Licensure: A valid New Jersey Licensure as an Occupational Therapist is required.
  • Compliance with regulations: Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations is mandatory.
  • Proven experience: Proven experience in occupational therapy practice is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a clinical setting: Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a relevant specialty, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems: Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is an asset.
  • Specialized certifications or training: Specialized certifications or training related to specific areas of occupational therapy are an advantage.
