Key Responsibilities:

The role of a Chemical Process Specialist encompasses the following responsibilities:


• Function as an onsite Chemical Process Specialist within a manufacturing facility.


• Provide designs and engineering documentation pertinent to process engineering for industrial facilities.


• Establish the project scope through discussions with clients, liaise with the offshore team, and ensure the delivery of engineering outputs.


• Collaborate with clients to gather all necessary information for the completion of engineering designs.


• Work alongside vendors and construction teams to obtain essential data for finalizing designs and evaluating vendor proposals.


• Participate in design reviews with clients and construction teams to secure necessary approvals.


• Assist in construction and commissioning activities.


• Provide support during start-up operations as required.

Essential Skills:


• Proven experience as a Chemical Process Specialist in industrial settings (Chemical, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Food & Beverages).


• Prior experience in a surfactant production facility is highly desirable.


• Proficient in preparing and interpreting Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass and energy balance calculations, and hydraulic calculations.


• Strong understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, solid handling, and mass transfer.


• Capable of specifying process equipment and experienced in selecting equipment based on project specifications.


• Experience in sizing and designing powder handling equipment is a valuable asset.


• Ability to independently specify pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and other equipment.


• Familiarity with the selection of safety devices and involvement in process safety management activities.


• Previous experience with sanitary piping and process systems is advantageous.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications is essential.


• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.


• Familiarity with hydraulic calculation software such as AFT Fathom and AFT Arrow is an added benefit.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of climbing stairs and standing for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs if necessary.

Demonstrated ability to excel in a dynamic team environment with diverse perspectives.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Work Authorization: Must possess a valid work permit, Green Card, or be a U.S. Citizen.
