Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team at the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. As a Research Nurse Coordinator, you will play a critical role in coordinating the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects, ensuring adherence to research protocol requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Protocol Management: Assist with coordinating the implementation and conduct of research projects, ensuring timely completion and communication of regulatory documents, data capture and monitoring plans, and completion of FDA and sponsor forms in accordance with GCP guidelines.
  • Liaison: Serve as a liaison between investigators, research personnel, outside study personnel, and central research administration offices to assist in protocol interpretation, enrollment, and safety questions.
  • Patient Care: Utilize the nursing process as a basis for patient care, assessing research subjects, completing nursing assessments, documenting findings in research subject records, and notifying physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Care Planning: Establish a care plan in collaboration with the research subject, family, and research team, coordinating ongoing care, identifying discharge needs, and facilitating discharge planning as appropriate.
  • Education and Training: Maintain knowledge of research protocol, coordinate comprehensive and compliant execution of assigned protocols, and assist with preparation for audits and response to audits as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Certifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of clinical experience and two years of research experience, with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
