Position Summary:
The Cardiopulmonary Services Supervisor is tasked with overseeing daily operations within the department, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit exceptional skills in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with a registered respiratory therapist.
- Ensure the quality and diversity of Cardiopulmonary Services, collaborating with the Medical Director and department leadership to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
- Guarantee that all personnel deliver care that meets the specific needs of patients across all age groups.
- Assist the Department Leader in supervising all staff within the Cardiopulmonary Department, including:
- Recruitment and onboarding of new personnel
- Conducting departmental orientation
- Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary
- Completing annual performance evaluations and setting goals
- Maintaining annual skills checklists
- Cross-training staff to ensure adequate coverage in both Cardiac and Respiratory services
- Support the Department Leader in:
- Preparing capital and operating budgets while adhering to approved guidelines
- Strategic planning for new equipment, services, and community education initiatives
- Monitoring departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage specific responsibilities, including:
- Scheduling equipment maintenance and repairs
- Reviewing and processing payroll
- Approving department-specific invoices
- Handling administrative calls as needed
- Ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts
- Documenting required hospital and professional education
Qualifications:
Education: No specific educational requirements; however, candidates must meet the standards for the necessary licenses and certifications.
Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
Licensure: Candidates must possess and maintain a current RN, PT, Exercise Physiologist license, or be licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Tennessee with ABG endorsement. If holding the RRT credential, it must be valid as per the National Board of Respiratory Care.
