Position Summary:

The Cardiopulmonary Services Supervisor is tasked with overseeing daily operations within the department, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit exceptional skills in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with a registered respiratory therapist.
  • Ensure the quality and diversity of Cardiopulmonary Services, collaborating with the Medical Director and department leadership to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee that all personnel deliver care that meets the specific needs of patients across all age groups.
  • Assist the Department Leader in supervising all staff within the Cardiopulmonary Department, including:
    • Recruitment and onboarding of new personnel
    • Conducting departmental orientation
    • Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary
    • Completing annual performance evaluations and setting goals
    • Maintaining annual skills checklists
    • Cross-training staff to ensure adequate coverage in both Cardiac and Respiratory services
  • Support the Department Leader in:
    • Preparing capital and operating budgets while adhering to approved guidelines
    • Strategic planning for new equipment, services, and community education initiatives
    • Monitoring departmental compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Manage specific responsibilities, including:
    • Scheduling equipment maintenance and repairs
    • Reviewing and processing payroll
    • Approving department-specific invoices
    • Handling administrative calls as needed
    • Ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts
    • Documenting required hospital and professional education

Qualifications:

Education: No specific educational requirements; however, candidates must meet the standards for the necessary licenses and certifications.

Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.

Licensure: Candidates must possess and maintain a current RN, PT, Exercise Physiologist license, or be licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Tennessee with ABG endorsement. If holding the RRT credential, it must be valid as per the National Board of Respiratory Care.
