PrideStaff is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for a manufacturing organization. This role is temporary-to-permanent. The ideal candidate should have fundamental assembly expertise, including the ability to interpret technical drawings or diagrams, work with electromechanical components, and utilize hand and pneumatic tools. Familiarity with woodworking, packaging materials, and assembly processes is advantageous. Please review the qualifications below to be considered for this opportunity.
- Compensation ranges from $17 to $18 per hour.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential mandatory overtime of up to 4 hours daily and/or 5 hours on Saturdays.
Responsible for the mechanical assembly of electromechanical components, subassemblies, mechanisms, and systems according to production specifications, diagrams, and/or verbal directives.
II. Core Responsibilities:
• Execute mechanical assembly tasks for electromechanical components, subassemblies, mechanisms, and systems in alignment with production specifications, diagrams, and/or verbal directives.
• Conduct assembly work that necessitates a high level of dexterity.
• Employ tools and fixtures for precise positioning and alignment of components.
• Adjust, align, and secure components using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and drill presses, with drill presses utilized exclusively in specific assembly lines.
• Monitor inventory levels in the workspace and inform supervisors when materials are required.
• Identify and replace or report defective subassemblies.
• Perform basic go-no-go testing.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
III. Additional Duties:
• Operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) for material handling.
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment while fostering a collaborative and positive atmosphere among colleagues.
• Undertake assigned tasks to support project success and company objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
IV. Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly.
V. Skills and Attributes:
• Understanding of basic assembly processes.
• Skill level assessed through a Skills Matrix and Leveling Guide.
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, specifications, diagrams, or sketches.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and professionalism.
• Quality-focused with the capability to meet productivity targets.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and build strong working relationships across various departments.
• Adaptable to a high-performance work culture.
VI. Work Environment:
