Job Summary

The National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our La Jornada program, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation and physically escorting children who have fled their country of origin and arrived in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate transportation, including organizing and navigating travel destinations, physically escorting, and supervising youth while in transit to scheduled and emergency appointments.
  • Track and assign all doctor appointments via supervisors and attend weekly supervisor meetings.
  • Maintain a daily roster of times, dates, destinations, transporters, and length of transport.
  • Provide documentation of all missed appointments or unusual events to the Management Team.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness and upkeep of all vehicles assigned to the campus, including inspecting for cleanliness, damage, proper equipment, and safe operation of vehicle.
  • Report vehicle needs and damage to maintenance and track all vehicle issues in regards to repair.
  • Provide safety training to all new hires every three weeks and collect and track all safety checklist sheets.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is required.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Applicants are required to pass an agility and strength evaluation.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
