ESL Program Support/Teacher

Job Summary:
The ESL Program Support/Teacher will play a vital role in supporting our English as a Second Language (ESL) program, helping students develop their language skills, and ensuring success in a multicultural and diverse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt ESL curriculum materials, lesson plans, and resources to meet the needs of diverse community learners.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to teachers who require additional assistance in language or technology development.
- Collaborate with staff and teachers to align ESL instructions and classes.
- Stay updated on the latest ESL teaching methodologies, trends, and research to continually improve teaching skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student's attendance, assessments, and progress, to provide necessary reports to the Program's Director and the Language Access Programs Specialist.
- Communicate effectively with ESL site facilitators, Immigration and Refugee Services case managers, and Program Directors to provide and share relevant programmatic details.
- Prepare data reports and analysis for grant proposals and grant reporting.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, preferred.
- ESL teaching certification is preferable (e.g., TEFL, CELTA, TESOL).
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital resources.
- Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) candidates are highly preferred. Proficiency in Arabic, Haitian-Creole, Burmese, or other languages is valued.
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all case and client information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with CASAS eTests and WorkReadyU client database is a plus or must be willing to learn the database/software.
- Ability to work some evenings.
- Have reliable transportation.
- New employees will be required to complete a criminal background check prior to employment.
