Direct Support Professional
Job Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives, assisting with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs, and redirecting behaviors with various activities.
Responsibilities:- Assist clients with bathroom needs and change undergarments and/or clothing as needed
- Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up
- Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary)
- Assist clients with daily routines, including visual and active planning
- Redirect behaviors with various activities, including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/First Aid certification
- CPI certification
- MUST have DSP 1
- 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors (strongly preferred)
- Valid in-state driver's license, over 21, current registration, and insurance, with a driving record of no more than 2 points within the last 3 years
