Job Title: Drainage Engineer-in-Training

David Evans and Associates is seeking a highly skilled Drainage Engineer-in-Training to join our Transportation Group in Denver, CO.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual to work in a project team environment, contributing to public infrastructure improvement projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing stormwater management systems, including storm sewers, ditches, culverts, and grading.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for transportation projects in Colorado and Utah.
  • Complete 2D hydraulic modeling and prepare hydraulic reports for bridge replacement projects.
  • Guide projects through regulatory agency permitting processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct field visits, site inspections, and prepare report documents.
  • Design and prepare plans and details using Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads software.
  • Assist in writing drainage and water quality sections for water quality documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • 0-4 years of hydrology or hydraulics design experience related to interstate and roadway projects.
  • Familiarity with Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CDOT or Colorado local agency drainage design standards.
  • Demonstrated work experience with storm drain modeling software.
  • Familiarity with SRH-2d.
