About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Sunrise Senior Living. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, guests, and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance duties, including fixing wall coverings, floor coverings, furniture, and fixtures, as well as performing basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Assist with painting and refurbishing projects, and conduct routine maintenance on all Sunrise vehicles.
  • Participate in fire drills and disaster preparedness programs, and maintain all tools and repair parts.
  • Assist with working on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform deep cleaning and resident suite 'make ready' rooms as assigned, and assist with housekeeping functions as needed.
Requirements
  • One year of maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Technical school education preferred.
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, and code compliance.
  • Maintains a current applicable driver's license to drive Sunrise vehicles provided with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
