Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist III to join our team at MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center. As a CT Technologist III, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized computerized tomography procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic computerized tomography examinations, ensuring that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
  • Operate complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, ensuring that it is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in a variety of CT diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
  • Explain and educate patients on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
  • Mentor and foster a constructive environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Perform general clerical tasks, such as answering phones, updating patient appointments, and retrieving, entering, revising patient electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient, procedures, and exam charges.
  • Inventory and order accessories and supplies periodically to maintain established stock levels.
  • Implement protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff, and patients.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure.
  • Inspect and calibrate equipment accordingly for proper operation and record the quality control (QC) results, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain strictest confidence of all patients' protected health information (PHI) and protect all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure.
  • Perform quality CT examinations in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of patient privacy and care.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and contrast media in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Retain certification and complete mandated continuing education requirements to meet facility and regulatory agencies' accreditation and licensure requirements.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate.
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.
