What is the Large Business and International (LB&I) Division?
The LB&I division plays a crucial role in overseeing compliance and operational efficiency. The following duties are expected at a proficient level:
- Identify and analyze potential issues, determining root causes and suggesting viable solutions. This includes thorough research and data collection to support program objectives.
- Evaluate and monitor operational workflows, assessing interactions with other functions to identify redundancies or systemic inefficiencies, and providing insights to senior analysts or supervisors.
- Ensure the integrity of controls to maintain accuracy and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
- Update procedures and controls in response to changes in higher-level directives or as directed by senior analysts.
- Draft reports, memos, and visual aids that present findings and recommendations clearly and effectively.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants may be required to utilize a government-issued charge card for official travel.
Experience Requirements
While federal experience is not mandatory, relevant experience from public or private sectors, or volunteer service is acceptable. One year of experience is defined as full-time work; part-time work will be considered proportionately.
To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 LEVEL: Candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the federal service. This experience should directly relate to the duties of this position and demonstrate the necessary competencies for successful performance. Examples include:
- Identifying problems and their causes, conducting research, and reporting findings to higher-level personnel.
- Revising operational procedures and controls, and preparing documentation that reflects findings and recommendations.
- Utilizing software tools for document preparation and data management.
PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: Candidates must demonstrate typing proficiency and office automation skills, with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute. This can be validated through testing or certification.
TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: Candidates must have served at least one year at the GS-05 level or equivalent to be eligible for this position.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Current employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal service since their last competitive appointment.
Education
Transcripts or equivalent documentation are required for positions with educational prerequisites.
Additional Information

- Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Travel may be required occasionally.
