Job Description

The Financial Operations Specialist is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. As a Financial Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately balancing all hotel income and expenses for every 24-hour hotel operating period. You will also act as a liaison between the hotel's financial and operational teams, ensuring seamless operations and resolving any technical issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the hotel system liaison during night hours, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and resolving any technical issues that may arise.
• Balance and audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue, and telephone revenue for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and transmit daily management/accounting reports with supporting documentation, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of reports relevant to daily revenues, including analysis of sales trends and variances.
• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and amenities, ensuring exceptional customer service.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• May book guest reservations, process cancellations, and revisions as needed, ensuring seamless guest experiences.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with guests, colleagues, and management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the role.
