Job Summary

The Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department at Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Principal RF Design Engineer to join their team. This role will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Raytheon's Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement RF system architectures, including requirements analysis and hardware design.
  • Design and optimize RF circuits, including filters, limiters, and couplers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including power, digital, and mechanical engineers.
  • Transition designs to production and provide technical support during this process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years' of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience with microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test.
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools, such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations.
