Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join our team at the Fresno VA Medical Center. As a gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical and selected specialty services for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
  • Provide services such as inpatient and outpatient consultation, GI and liver diseases, and oversee the administration of conscious sedation during GI procedures.
  • Perform GI procedures including but not limited to EGD, complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies/polypectomy, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo study, and other advanced procedures.
  • Actively participate and lead in research and education/training activities.
  • Meet the requirements for an academic appointment with the University of California San Francisco @ Fresno Medical Education Program.
Requirements
  • Full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
  • Expected salary range - $300,000 to $400,000.
  • May include up to $15,000 in Annual Performance Bonus.
  • Candidates may be eligible for a Sign-on Bonus.
  • Eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program and, if approved, receive up to $200k in school loan repayment Tax Free.

About the Fresno VA Medical Center

The medical center is situated on 18.5 acres and is a 57-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state-of-the-art primary and secondary care in major diagnostic and treatment specializations, including a 12-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, and three CBOC's.

A 54-bed Community Living Center is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.
