The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in managing the overall operations of designated Pump & Pantry locations during the absence of the Store Manager or 1st Assistant Manager. This position involves executing various responsibilities either directly or through subordinate supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted punctually.

Demonstrate proficiency in opening and closing shifts, including completing all necessary paperwork.

Ensure customer satisfaction and enforce the company's customer service policies.

Oversee cash management and bank deposits.


Assist in ensuring that employees adhere to proper procedures for all aspects of food operations and product handling/storage, in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Support other assigned duties as necessary.

Exhibit a positive demeanor.

Deliver friendly and competent customer service.

Report to work punctually as scheduled.

Assist in resolving issues related to customers, staff, or equipment.


Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of assigned stores to meet company standards.

Ensure all items are accurately ordered, stocked to appropriate inventory levels, and correctly priced.

Support the implementation and follow-up of company training procedures.

Assist in supervising and thoroughly training all personnel.


Help train all associates in food handling and company procedures, including proper hold times and code dating.

Ensure that all food products are stored correctly and labeled with expiration dates. Additionally, verify that all products, whether cooked or stored, are maintained at proper temperatures.

Assist in ensuring all shifts are adequately staffed.

Consistently reflect and ensure that all personnel are in proper uniforms, neat and clean, at all times.

Assist in enforcing all company policies and procedures.

Regularly report maintenance, customer, and personnel issues to upper management.

Help maintain necessary records – merchandise, personnel, and fuel.

Promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Attend management and training meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:


A high school diploma or equivalent (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Must possess a Food Handler's permit or Serve Safe Certification where mandated by law or policy.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Must have knowledge of the operations and maintenance of all equipment in the assigned stores.

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.


Must be able to work a minimum of three 2nd shifts per week opposite the manager to ensure key operating hours have a manager on duty.

Must have reliable transportation and communication device.

Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, if applicable.

Able and willing to provide friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.

Able and willing to collaborate effectively with other team members.
