Position Overview

Starting Compensation: $24.10/hr

I. ROLE SUMMARY:

This position involves executing administrative and patient care tasks to facilitate the operations of the physician practice as designated.

II. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


• Continuous activities include lifting up to ½ pound, as well as seeing, hearing, speaking, grasping, and fine motor skills.


• Frequent to continuous activities involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching at various levels, along with repetitive arm and hand movements, and lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds.


• Occasional activities may require kneeling, crouching, climbing, traversing uneven surfaces, and lifting/carrying weights up to 50 pounds with assistance.


• Proficient use of computers and various office and medical apparatus is essential.

III. WORK ENVIRONMENT:


• Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases is a part of the role.


• The work setting may be dynamic and fast-paced.


• Travel to assist satellite clinics may be necessary.

IV. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:


• Candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:

• Completion of a program or degree in one of the following fields: Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse; OR

• Nursing students who have completed a semester of clinical fundamentals and a pharmacology course; OR

• A minimum of six months of direct patient care experience (preferably in a physician practice) or six months of administrative experience in areas such as patient access, registration, scheduling, or insurance verification (preferably in a physician practice).


• Current CPR certification at the BLS/HCP level is required.

B. EXPERIENCE:


• Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with computers and automated systems.


• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English is essential.


• Depending on the assignment area, experience comparable to a Patient Service Representative in a healthcare setting may be advantageous.
