Job Summary:

As a Surgical Technician with Surgery Partners, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Under the supervision of the Operating Room Manager, you will assist Registered Nurses in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the proper care and maintenance of surgical instrumentation and equipment.

You will be responsible for demonstrating good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique and infection control, as well as knowledge of all equipment, instruments, procedures, and supplies utilized in the operating room.

As a member of our OR team, you will project a professional demeanor and appearance, maintaining the confidentiality of patients, co-workers, and the surgery center, while adhering to the HIPAA policy.

You will also be responsible for reporting any known or suspected activity that appears to violate laws, rules, regulations, or the Code of Conduct, and fulfilling annual HealthStream continuing education requirements.

Personal attributes include the ability to be self-directed, demonstrating accountability, professionalism, and receptiveness to change, seeking guidance, direction, and assistance when needed.

You will work under stress and in situations that demand patience, stamina, endurance, and tact, while providing impeccable service.

Fostering an attitude of teamwork and willingness to assist others, you will not refuse performing other job duties as requested.

You will set priorities, respond timely to issues that require a decision, and ensure desired results are achieved by means of consistent follow through.


Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of approved surgical technician program
  • CST certification preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience in the Operating Room in Orthopaedics
  • Ability to achieve Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
  • Awareness of surgical technician standards and performance in accordance with them
