The Penn State Translational Center for Child Maltreatment Studies is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social welfare, public policy, human development, or a related field, and will be responsible for conducting applied, systems-focused research to inform improvements to the child welfare system in Pennsylvania and nationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Drs. Sarah Font and Christian Connell on research projects to improve the safety and well-being of children who encounter child welfare agencies
  • Develop and lead projects to inform improvements to the child welfare system
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of faculty, students, and staff, as well as community partners
  • Conduct quantitative analysis and data processing using administrative records
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in social welfare, public policy, human development, or a related field
  • Strong data processing and quantitative analysis skills
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using administrative records for research
  • Proficient in Stata
  • Experience with primary data collection
