Job Overview

Position: Full-Time Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM) with Rotating Schedule

Compensation: $2000 Sign-on Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening Shift: $2.00 per hour (5 PM – 11 PM)
  • Night Shift: $3.00 per hour (11 PM – 6 AM)
  • Weekend Shift: $1.50 per hour (Friday 2 PM - Sunday 11:59 PM)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care and medical supervision to residents within the Legacy Campus Assisted Living Communities, including AL Cottages, Vista, and the Independent Living Community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nursing Duties
  • Conduct initial assessments for residents transitioning into the cottages and perform ongoing evaluations as mandated by regulatory standards.
  • Review Medication Administration Records (MARs) monthly to ensure alignment with physician orders.
  • Manage routine pickups and deliveries to and from the pharmacy.
  • Administer PRN medications and injections as prescribed.
  • Document changes in condition, behaviors, and follow-ups on new medications.
  • Prepare documentation for physician visits and assist during their rounds.
  • Generate lab requisitions, obtain results, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Monitor vital signs and weights on a monthly basis as recorded by C.N.A.s.
  • Oversee the care provided to all residents in designated areas.
  • Administer nursing treatments and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure optimal care.
  • Lead responses to emergency situations and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping policies as per state and federal regulations.
  • Support staff as needed, including performing C.N.A. duties when required.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives related to nursing assessments and resident care.
  • Promote resident well-being through elder-centered care as part of the Clinical Support Team.
Direct Care Responsibilities
  • Assist C.N.A.s and nursing staff in providing resident care.
  • Support residents with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
  • Facilitate walking assistance with or without mobility aids.
  • Provide compassionate care to residents nearing end-of-life, ensuring dignity and comfort.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Conduct rounds in nursing areas to offer assistance as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor staff in assigned areas.
  • Coach, evaluate, and, if necessary, discipline team members.
  • Foster supportive relationships with residents across all care levels.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and scheduling.
  • Participate in community engagement activities to build rapport with residents and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Communication and Reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with policy.
Dining Services
  • Assist during mealtimes, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.
  • Perform other necessary duties to facilitate a pleasant dining experience.
Safety Protocols
  • Adhere to safety regulations and identify potential hazards.
  • Participate in mandatory safety training sessions.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics when assisting residents.
  • Follow established safety procedures when handling biohazard materials.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment as required.
Mission and Customer Service
  • Support the Eden Alternative philosophy, promoting a nurturing environment.
  • Uphold customer service standards by engaging positively with residents and visitors.
Employee Responsibilities
  • Comply with TB testing and annual influenza vaccination policies.
  • Attend mandatory training and educational sessions to maintain licensure.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Montana. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • Strong observational skills for monitoring resident conditions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Capacity to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
  • Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare supplies and technology.
  • Ability to contribute to resident care plans and documentation.
  • Competence in responding to diverse resident needs professionally.
  • Capability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Valid MT Driver's License required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally, as well as prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including dust and odors.
  • Potential exposure to hazards requiring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Normal healthcare setting with interactions involving plants and animals.
