We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grocery Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our grocery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely ordering of grocery products, maintaining inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order Management: Complete Order Writer training and accurately order perishable and non-perishable grocery products, maintaining appropriate back stock levels.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and accurate manner, controlling spoilage and shrink.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
  • Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales and inventory goals, and support leadership in conducting inventories.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 12+ months retail experience.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of grocery products, strong basic math skills, and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and ordering systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a wet and cold environment.

Benefits: Whole Foods Market offers a competitive hourly rate of $23.60, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, and paid time off.
