Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Dent Neurologic Institute. As a Clinical LPN, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients and providers in the examination and treatment of patients with Headache, Migraine, Concussion, and Neuro-Oncology conditions.
Responsibilities- Coordinates and participates in patient care activities, including vital signs, blood draws, medication administration, and mini-mental assessments.
- Determines, prepares, and sets up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Contributes to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature, and community service recommendations and referrals as needed.
- Complies with quality assurance, HIPAA, customer focus, infection control, and safety regulations.
- Confers with patients to obtain accurate information for records, explains procedures, and ensures completion of chart information prior to examination by provider.
- Prepares e-prescriptions for provider evaluation and completion/transmittal.
- Assists in completion of insurance/compensation/disability/prior authorization forms.
- Maintains accurate documentation in chart/EMR after each patient encounter.
- Maintains work area in clean and orderly condition, sets up, cleans, and disinfects examination rooms, and monitors and ensures appropriate inventory of medical supplies.
- May be required to assist with bio-hazard cleanup.
- Supports patient care with an emphasis on patient response, maintains liaison with physicians and practice administration, and ensures efficient and effective patient care services.
- Coordinates scheduling with medical secretary and represents the Dent by displaying a respectful and caring manner with patients and their families.
- Independently problem solves and utilizes resources to solve complicated matters, maintains confidentiality of patient information, and interacts calmly, respectfully, and in a friendly manner with other representatives of services at the Dent.
- Escorts and/or transports patients to the examination room and other clinic locations, if necessary.
