Position Overview
The Clinical Operations Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating daily functions, resources, personnel, and performance enhancement on a continuous basis in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager. This position is designed to cultivate managerial capabilities in preparation for advancement to higher management roles. The Assistant Manager is instrumental in the formulation and achievement of the unit's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guarantees that the team delivers superior quality, accessible, cost-efficient care, and patient-centered services while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Aids in the evaluation of financial performance and identifies/executes strategies to minimize expenses and enhance the quality of care/services while scrutinizing budgets for the effective utilization of human and material resources.
3. Provides clinical oversight to patient care personnel.
4. Assesses the appropriate staffing composition for the department and manages the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and competency maintenance of all departmental staff.
5. Assists in addressing and resolving human resource, employee safety, and risk management challenges.
6. Promotes ongoing professional development for staff.
7. Facilitates the progression of nursing practices and assumes comprehensive responsibility around the clock.
8. Monitors and establishes standards of care and practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement initiatives.
9. Ensures that staff delivers the highest standard of care and complies with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
10. Acts as a role model and mentor for staff.
11. Performs additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; a Master's degree in Nursing or a related health field is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a specialized area.
- Familiarity with Epic systems is preferred.
- Previous management experience is preferred.
- Proven excellence in interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association as per unit standards.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics as per unit standards.
- Specialty certification is preferred.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate of $119.51 USD.
