About the Role

Farnsworth Group is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our Energy & Utility Group as a part of the Telecommunications Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, drafting, designing, permitting, and constructing telecommunications and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities
  • Design civil relocation plans for telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software
  • Plan and oversee work production to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Provide technical oversight, training, and mentoring to less experienced staff
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate efforts with support groups to ensure a quality, on-time product for our clients
  • Review projects for accuracy, quality, and adherence to client specifications
  • Provide direction and support for permit plans and work prints drafted in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Participate in site visits and provide office support as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 2-5 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Experience in utility relocation design, utility coordination, or roadway design
  • Positive work ethic and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time while working on several projects concurrently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or 2+ years of project management experience
  • Experience on telecommunications relocation projects
  • Experience submitting and tracking permits for utility projects
