Our mission is to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors while training the Sailors who operate these critical systems in the U.S. Navy's submarines and aircraft carrier fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering controls related to radiological, environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene.
- Create work procedures and supporting documentation essential for tasks involving radioactive and/or nuclear materials.
- Engage in fuel development, irradiation testing, and fleet support, alongside maintenance of radiological facilities and infrastructure.
- Provide engineering support during work execution to ensure compliance with engineered work products.
- Produce engineered drawings, sketches, containment designs, and safety controls to support complex projects.
- May also involve developing plans and reports and conducting environmental characterization and investigation activities in line with regulatory programs.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field from an accredited institution is required. A Master's degree in a similar field is also acceptable. Internship experience is preferred.
