Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to support the Imaging Department at TIRR Memorial Hermann.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, position patients, select imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, perform quality assurance on ultrasound equipment, and assist with accreditation applications.
  • Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency calls within the department and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting mandatory education and skills competency requirements.
  • Contribute to the success of the organization by supporting department-based goals and demonstrating commitment to compassionate and personalized patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • One of the following certifications required: Registered Sonographer, Registered Vascular Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Technologist, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Specialist, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
