Join Our Culinary Team at Peak
We are currently seeking talented individuals for various culinary roles.
Available Positions:
- Line Cook: $18-$23.00/hour
- Prep Cook: $18-$20.00/hour
- Jr Sous Chef: $24-$27.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Support kitchen personnel in meal preparation using standardized recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
- Assist in stock preparation, ensuring proper storage and labeling of food products, while adhering to temperature recording and cleaning schedules.
- Contribute to prep cooking and special events.
- Implement safe food handling practices and uphold sanitation standards in line with SERV Safe guidelines.
- Familiarize yourself with kitchen equipment and its operation.
- Ensure a tidy work environment, including floors and passageways.
- Perform cleaning tasks as directed by the Culinary Management team.
- Adhere to all duties as per the standards set by the NYC Department of Health.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong professional work ethic.
- 1-3 years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, detail-oriented kitchen environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow directions from supervisors.
- Capacity to maintain organization and efficiency in a high-pressure setting.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in detailed cooking techniques.
- Ability to work independently and proactively address challenges.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards as mandated by health authorities.
- Physical capability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 30 pounds, along with the ability to stand for extended periods.
