Job Overview

The Retail Management Trainee will gain expertise in overseeing the sales operations within the store, assisting the Store Manager in achieving targeted sales, profit margins, and cost management objectives. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Retail Management Trainee will be prepared to take on the Store Manager's responsibilities. This role requires flexibility to relocate within the designated area.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Store Performance:

  • Support the store in reaching its financial goals, including revenue growth, expense management, customer satisfaction, and inventory control.
  • Enhance additional revenue streams through protection agreements, leasing options, and other services.
  • Lead and develop the sales team through training, coaching, and performance assessments.
  • Oversee the customer experience, ensuring satisfaction and managing online feedback.
  • Achieve personal sales targets consistently.
  • Assist customers with loading their purchases and preparing items for delivery.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty when required.

Managerial Duties:

  • Implement corporate initiatives related to merchandising, cost management, and employee engagement.
  • Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a diverse, high-performing sales team.
  • Serve as a role model for adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
  • Facilitate training for new hires across various departments.
  • Manage in-store human resources functions, including staffing and training, to enhance overall performance.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling.
  • Ensure the store meets company presentation standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety and shrinkage policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee the online order processing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a sales role is beneficial.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential.
