The automotive service trainee role is designed for individuals at the entry level, requiring minimal experience, and operates under the mentorship of seasoned mechanics and/or Shop Management. Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret work orders and support minor repairs under the supervision of experienced mechanics.
- Assist in obtaining necessary parts and tools for completing tasks.
- Help in testing repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulations.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- This list is not exhaustive and may not encompass all mental and physical capabilities required for the role, as operational and safety needs may necessitate performing additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to utilize hand tools and testing equipment under the guidance of trained mechanics and/or Shop Management.
- Must possess the physical strength and endurance to work in various positions.
- Physical activities include walking, lifting, twisting, turning, and climbing ladders.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Must be self-motivated and organized.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
- Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more as required by job functions.
- Compliance with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct is mandatory.
- Ability to work well with others and independently.
- Capable of managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to written information such as safety guidelines and maintenance instructions with a high level of comprehension.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will undergo a criminal history background check.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
