Position Overview:
As a Program Assistant in our Adult Day Program, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals in our care. This position is ideal for those who wish to contribute positively to the community and work alongside a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily care of older adults or individuals with brain injuries, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Support the creation and execution of individual and group activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.
- Help individuals with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide guidance in developing social skills, self-advocacy, and self-esteem, promoting independence.
- Facilitate transportation for medical appointments, errands, and community activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum age of 18.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, particularly older adults.
- Current physical examination and annual TB screening.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs and assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- A dependable and compassionate demeanor.
