**Job Summary**

The Floor Care Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and infection-free environment throughout our hospital and assigned campuses. This position requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Refine and maintain floors and carpets throughout the main hospital and assigned campuses
  • Ensure clean utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas for visitors and staff
  • Collect and dispose of soiled linen, and assist with clean linen distribution, when needed
  • Provide minor general maintenance tasks, including hanging drapes/cubicle curtains, moving furniture, etc.
  • Perform all other assigned duties related to Environmental Services

**Requirements**

  • Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Attention to detail

**Physical Capabilities**

This position requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and the ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stretching.

**Environmental/Working Conditions**

This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/blood-borne pathogens is high risk.
