Job Overview


SERV Behavioral Health System, a prominent provider in the field of behavioral health in New Jersey, is dedicated to assisting individuals with mental health challenges and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving enhanced autonomy and fulfillment through a diverse array of services.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Residential Support Coordinator – Youth I/DD offers therapeutic residential assistance to young individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The ideal candidate will aid in daily living tasks and deliver behavioral support within a group home environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcomes and orients newly admitted residents
  • Designs, leads, and oversees resident activities
  • Implements positive behavioral interventions consistently
  • Ensures direct supervision within a group home context
  • Contributes to assessments, meetings, and treatment planning
  • Encourages community involvement through targeted recreational initiatives
  • Facilitates pre-vocational skills training tailored to individual needs
  • Records and maintains accurate data, completing all necessary documentation
  • Provides transportation as required and accompanies residents to appointments
  • Maintains a secure, therapeutic environment while adhering to all safety protocols, Federal and State regulations, and organizational policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting, OR
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a non-social work/psychology field with six (6) months of experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting, OR
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related discipline
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to show respect and understanding towards children/adolescents and their families
