RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I Job Summary

Zurich is seeking a highly skilled RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. As a leading crop insurance provider in the U.S., RCIS offers insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents.

This role is responsible for working out of the state of Idaho and/or Washington, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory. The ideal candidate will need to live and service in the following Idaho/Washington areas: Idaho Counties: Idaho: Nez Perce, and/or Latah; and, Washington Counties: Asotin, and/or Whitman.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field inspections and related responsibilities, including reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex non-routine claims.
  • Communicate complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry people on claim situations.
  • Perform fact-finding regarding crop damage, record information, and transmit loss information to determine potential indemnities.
  • Conduct claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
  • Ensure legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
  • Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
  • Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with crops, such as wheat, barley, canola, and peas.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
