Business Operations Manager

The Business Manager I is a key role within the Public Security and Safety division of the Department of Aviation. This position is responsible for overseeing the operation of several areas of administrative services, including procurement, budgeting, planning, and training.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the department head in performing professional tasks, including procurement, budgeting, planning, and training.
- Represent the department at various meetings, training sessions, and programs, requiring presentation for the department.
- Track the implementation of Standard Operation Procedures and act as liaison for various occasions.
- Supervise and provide guidance to less experienced staff, including routine provision of work group leadership, guidance, and/or training.
- Develop, establish, and implement operational policies and procedures, as well as plan, prepare, and manage budget activities for the Public Safety and Security division.
- Authorize and oversee purchasing requests, oversee legislation and contracts, and direct and review the work of staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service to business customers by managing department email accounts, dashboards, updating public and internal websites, and developing the Monthly Security Awareness Memo for publication.
- Work with directors to determine work schedule needs, appointment scheduling for the Credentialing Office, and provide administrative support to line management, check in processes, collection of payments, and provide to the budget team the security monthly billing for airport ID badges, vehicle permits, decals, and background check submissions.
- Assist with uniform allotment, ordering, tracking, and distributions on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis, and support the ATL-E training unit in tracking and assisting with training of new hires and program development.
- Inventory tracking and ordering for the Public Safety and Security division, ensuring all key required items are in stock and available to meet the demand of the operation.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers, work on own initiative, and be proactive in developing and improving administrative functions.
- Ability to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events, gather, collate, and/or classify data, analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes, operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods, work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups, develop and maintain positive working relationships, and provide direction.
Works under very general supervision, depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.
